Hey guys, it is nice to be back. I was off for some years but I am back im track again. And I wanted to share some experiences of my pregnancy. How to deal with it and to be on track in becoming a mom. But before that I wanted to share this not so good experience I had.
It was passed 10 in the evening when my closest cousin ( daughter of my mother's youngest sister) went to my mother's room. I was nursing my three years old nephew since my mom was not around. She went up to bed and played with her cousin, my nephew. I borrowed her new phone to browse. And this picture on her phone screen pop up. Out of curiosity. I opened the message and read their last conversation.
He: Don't stay at their house because they don't have the same religion like us.
Cousin: I was just here to visit and I have something to ask for my older cousin.
I was pissed off of the guy's advice to my cousin. And told my cousin that I made a reply on the guy she's having a conversation with. Though I know reading other messages is wrong and it will lead to this. Being pissed, angry and other negative feelings. But I can't help it. Why does those kind of people exist?
We have the right to choose our own religion. Our own faith. Yes, God give us the will to choose. But it does not include being bias and a bully. And advice your sister in religion not to mingle with people who have diffirent religion.
For me religion doesn't matter. Faith matters most. Why? Because it is your bridges to havea relitionship with God. No matter what sect of religion you have. Even if you are a devotee. That alone cannot save you. It is the Faith amd how do you know more about HIM.
And so you don't have the right to judge and give not good advices to others. Going to church everyday and being devoted to your religion will not make you become an angel. It will not help you go to heaven and meet God. Don't act like your not a sinner.
.
My point of view here is that. Be respectful to others. You don't know anything about them. i have lot of friends and we belong to different sect. But we have the same FAITH. We believe in one GOD.

Ancient human remains in Palawan reveal ritual burial, possible cannibalism
9,000 years ago, in El Nido, Palawan, a woman was buried in a cave after she was disposed of in an elaborate and bizarre ritual.
The bones of this woman were defleshed and crushed. They were burned and put in a small box before she was put in her final resting place.
The bones of this woman were defleshed and crushed. They were burned and put in a small box before she was put in her final resting place.
A group of scientists have since found her remains: well-preserved fragments of bones, uncovered underneath the cave of Ille in the Dewil Valley, in El Nido. Direct dating showed that her bones are between 9,000 to 9,400 years old.
A study of her remains was recently published in the International Journal of Osteoarcheology by Myra Lara, Victor Paz of the Archaeological Studies Program of the University of the Philippines – Diliman, and H. Lewis, and W. Solheim II of the School of Archaeology of the University College Dublin.
Cut marks on joints
Cut marks were found in her joints, which indicate that the people who conducted the ritual knew how to disarticulate the bones of a human body. Scrape marks on her bones and skull meanwhile proved that she was defleshed and skinned, Nathaniel Hermosa, a science blogger, said in his blog entry.
Bigger bones like the skull, thigh bone, shinbone, and arm bones were smashed with an anvil or a hammer; all these and the rest of her bones were then collected for cremation. Though, what her tribe mates did to her flesh is still very much questionable and suspicously like cannibalism.
Ancient civilizations were rumored to have practiced cannibalism in their religious rituals. The Aztecs of Mexico, for instance, allegedly sacrificed their human captives to their gods and ate their corpses.
The Wari' tribe of Brazil, on the other hand, ate their dead relatives. Part of their ritual is eating a small shred of their deceased relative's corpse that was previously barbecued. The close kin of the deceased will then decide whether to burn or bury the bones.
Was this what was done to the ancient woman before she was buried?
“The ritual indicates a sophistication in their expression of their cosmology,” said Victor Paz to Hermosa in an interview. “Now, regarding what happened to the flesh, this is anyone´s [guess].”
Eaters of the dead?
While the removal of flesh might be plain mortuary ritualistic behavior, scientists are not discounting the possibility for cannibals; that her flesh was eaten by the people who buried her.
“Inferring cannibalism is such a contentious issue in archaeological discourse. While other researchers might readily infer cannibalism from the modifications in C.758, we prefer to tread with caution and infer the minimum, which is a mortuary ritual,” said Myra Lara, proponent of the study.

While consumption of all or some of the remains might have occurred, cutmarks and scrape marks are not enough evidence to prove this.
“If in case we see human gnaw marks on other remains, then that will change the story,” Lara said.
Ritualistic burial is a rare practice in the Philippines. This is only the second archaeological cremation burial in the country, following the remains found in Pila, Laguna that could have been cremated later in the 13th to 14th century.
More cremated remains were excavated by Paz and Lara's team, and are already in various stages of analysis. Results of these might shed light into this possible ancient practice. – Kim Luces / KDM, GMA News

The Greatest Love
The Greatest Love also known as "Best Love" is a Korean drama series. It was aired here in the Philippines this February. Honesty I am an avid fun of Korean drama, movies especially when it comes to comedy. I like some of their series because its not that tragic and violent unlike the others. And one example is "The Greatest Love" comedy drama series about true love in the fake world of entertainment. Starring Cha Seung-won,Gong Hyo-jin, Yoon Kye-sang and Yoo In-na. Here are some information regarding the comedy drama and it's cast. And I hope you liked it like I do.
Gu Ae-jung (Gong Hyo-jin) was the most popular member of girl group Kukbo Sonyeo, literally meaning "National Treasure Girls," some 10 years ago, but fell from grace after becoming embroiled in scandals. She makes appearances on television programs to eke out a living for her troublemaker father and brother. On the other hand Dokko Jin (Cha Seung-won) is the most beloved star in the nation, topping all kinds of popularity polls and appearing in many commercials, but has several character flaws. Ae-jung discovers a secret about Jin by chance and reveals it on a talk show, incurring his fury. However, their ill-fated relationship unfolds in an unexpected way as Jin falls for Ae-jung and tries to win her heart.[3]
Another star Kang Se-ri (Yoo In-na), also used to be in Kukbo Sonyeo with Ae-jung. But whereas Ae-jung was more famous in her heyday and Se-ri was a nobody, now every girl wants to be just like Kang Se-ri. She dated Dokko Jin for a short time, but despite their breakup, they keep up the pretense that they’re still dating to avoid negative publicity. Se-ri is also the host of popular TV dating show Couple Making Season 3.[4]
Yoon Pil-joo (Yoon Kye-sang) is a well-mannered, thoughtful and caring doctor of Oriental medicine. He has no interest in celebrities and their outrageous lives. Under pressure from his mother, he agrees to appear on a TV dating show, but after finding out that Ae-jung will also be appearing on the same show, he becomes very eager to meet her.[3][4] Fictional dating show Couple Making Season 3 is based on MBC’s real variety program We Got Married, where they throw celebrities into fake relationships for the cameras. The concept is a competition-basedmat-seon program, essentially setting up people on blind dates for the purposes of finding a marriage partner. The major difference is that in Couple Making, celebrity ladies compete over a non-celebrity eligible bachelor who gives them roses to prevent their elimination (a la The Bachelor), which is how Yoon Pil-joo ends up as a contestant on the show.
The mix of the main characters’ mismatched personalities with the necessity to maintain (or recoup in Ae-jung’s case) public sentiment makes for great hijinks and drama, not to mention an interesting meta social commentary on the entertainment industry and the star-making and -breaking power of image.[5]
Phlebitis
I want to share to you guys the topic of the seminar I attended last March 06, 2013 its about "Managing IV complications". And one of our Instructor tackled this issue.
Phlebitis is a complication that is frequently associated with IV therapy. And is defined as the acute inflammation of the internal lining of the vein . Phlebitis is characterized by pain and tenderness along the course of the vein, redness and swelling and warmth can be felt at the insertion site.
Chemical phlebitis is most commonly seen with peripheral IV devices when medications or solutions irritate the endothelial lining of the small peripheral vessel wall. The lower or higher the Ph of the medication or solution, the greater the risk of phlebitis occurring. The same occurs if there is an increase in the tonicity of a medication or solution. Chemical phlebitis is a rare occurrence in central venous catheters due to the larger size of the vessel and the increased blood volume through these vessels. Medications which have been incorrectly diluted or mixed result in particulate matter being infused; particulate matter is also another factor which increases the risk of chemical phlebitis.
Bacterial phlebitis is usually a precursor to an infection at the insertion site. It occurs due to contamination of the IV system allowing bacteria to enter the solution and then the patient. Contamination can be caused by compromised aseptic technique during mixing of medications or solutions, improper cleaning of connection ports and hubs during connecting of IV equipment and inadequate skin preparation during insertion.
An interesting point to make about phlebitis and PICC lines is that research has shown that female patients have a higher risk of phlebitis than male patients; Caucasians have also shown to have a higher incidence although the reason for the increased risk has not been determined (Maki and Ringer, 1991).
Prevention

There are a number of factors that can contribute to and increase the risk of phlebitis.
These factors include:
- The infusion of drugs or solutions that are acidic or alkaline or have a high osmolarity
- Trauma to the vein during insertion
- Insertion into a vein that is too small
- Using a vascular access device that is too big for the vein
- Extended dwell time of the same IV site
- Type of catheter material used
- Patients history and present condition
- Condition of the veins
- Cannula stabilization
- Skin preparation/infection control
- Frequency of dressing change
Phlebitis can be classified into three categories:
- Mechanical
- Chemical or infusion
- Bacterial

Prevention
Prevention of phlebitis involves many factors and the nurse should consider these factors the moment the patient receives an IV device.
Prevention measures include:
* Adhering to aseptic technique during insertion, dressing changes, mixing or drawing up of solutions or
medications, accessing ports or hubs on IV equipment
* Cannula site rotation
* Using the smallest gauge cannula in the largest vein
* Adequate securement of the IV device
* Close and regular monitoring of the IV site
* Patient education of the signs and symptoms of phlebitis
* IV device selection – When to Pick a PICC!
* Following guidelines on dilution of solutions to prevent particulate matter and to ensure that the medication or solution doesn’t have too high or too low a pH or tonicity.
Jackson (1998) states that peripheral intravenous cannulation is one of the most prevalent invasive procedures in health care today. Problems such as phlebitis continue to affect patient care. Having an awareness of the types of phlebitis and the causes can improve patient care by preventing unnecessary and often expensive intravenous interventions.

SELF- ESTEEM
One of my co-worker gave me this booklet it entitled "The book of Hope". At first I was hesitant to read it, I always put it aside and done other activities that I'am busy with. And then I got curious of what's the content of this booklet when all of my workmates started talking about it and invited me to answer few questions about the topic they have read. Then I came across with this topic "Self- esteem' I can relate to this because I've experienced it during my younger years as part of growing up asking those questions. Here are the questions that I wanted to share with you and reflect on it.
" You're no good for anything"
Have you ever been told this?
" I'm ugly"
" I' m no good at sports. Not good in school either."
" How can anyone love me? I'm not worth it!"
Have you ever thought this?
SELF- ESTEEM. Have you ever looked in the mirror and wished you were someone else? If you answer yes, you're in the majority. Probably everyone who has ever lived wished that they could change at least one thing about themselves: their nose, their height, their personality - something.
Looks. Money.Possessions. Popularity. They all have one thing in common: they're not guaranteed. Even if we have them, they're all temporary. When our self- worth relies on these things. Happiness and fulfillment will always be short lived.
True worth comes by seeing ourselves through God our Creator's eye. How much value does he place on your life? Did you Know that God loves you as much as he loves his own son Jesus! You can't get any more valuable than that!
I so agree with this and I hope that after reading this article you've learned something.

The Natural Ways to Get Rid of Scars (from yahoo.com)
Applying lemon juice: Using fresh and strong lemon juice to deal with scars is an easy and simple method. For this, you have to place equal amounts of lemon juice and water in a cup and stir their mixture. After mixing them up, put a piece of absorbent fabric in it and apply it on your scars. This process should continue for minimum 5 minutes. But you have to continue it on a daily basis for positive results. This treatment removes scars and dead skin and can result in the development of new and fresh skin cells. Apart from that, you can also use a mixture of lemon juice and moisturizer and apply it regularly on your scars or you can even use a cotton swab, dip it into the lemon juice and directly apply it on your skin's affected areas. Using Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter is a very famous and useful natural product, specifically for pregnant women who have to deal with scars. It helps them remove their stretch marks. If this natural product is used regularly on the affected parts, it will show positive results in a noticeable and healthy way within a short period of time.
A mixture of oils: Another important and efficient way to get rid of scars to is mix pure olive oil, rosehip seed oil and vitamin E oil. This mixture is a highly effective skin care product for the removal of scars. For this method, you need to wash your face first and make sure it's free of dirt and oil. Then you should apply this mixture on your scars around 3 to 4 times a day.
Applying Honey: Honey is a very beneficial natural product for scars. If you use it on a daily basis, it can improve your skin. Using honey is a very convenient method as you can directly put it on your scars and wash it after around 20 minutes. You can even combine it with your moisturizer.

Keeping your heart healthy
Apples have a rounded shape with a depression at the top where the stem is attached. Some apples are almost perfectly round, while others are more rounded at the top and narrower at the bottom. In addition, some have knobby lobes at the calyx end (bottom) of the fruit. Apple fruits are firm and the skin is shiny and smooth. The color of the skin can be red, green, yellow, or a combination of those colors. The flesh is white or ivory.
A small-scale study funded by the apple industry claims that an apple a day can, indeed, keep the cardiologist at bay.
Published in the Journal of Functional Foods, the research found that healthy, middle-aged adults who ate one apple every day for four weeks succeeded in lowering levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol by 40 percent -- a substance which has been linked to the hardening of the arteries.
To carry out their study, researchers from Ohio State University recruited 16 healthy adults between the ages of 40 and 60 who weren’t regular apple eaters – less than twice a month. Participants were instructed to eat either a Red or a Golden Delicious apple every day for four weeks.
Another 17 participants took oral capsules containing 194 mg of polyphenols for four weeks, and a third group of 18 people took a placebo.
While the polyphenol capsules also yielded measurable results, they weren’t as strong as consuming whole apples, researchers said.
“That could either be because there are other things in the apple that could contribute to the effect, or, in some cases, these bioactive compounds seem to get absorbed better when they're consumed in foods,” hypothesized lead researcher Robert DiSilvestro.
When oxidized LDL or low-density lipoprotein --also known as ‘bad cholesterol’ -- oxidizes after meeting free radicals, the cholesterol is more likely to promote inflammation and cause tissue damage, researchers explain.
DiSilvestro also claims that eating whole apples daily was found to be more effective in this particular capacity -- lowering bad cholesterol levels -- than other antioxidant-rich foods he’s studied separately, including turmeric, green tea and tomato extract.
The latest study builds on previous research vaunting the health benefits of apples. A Florida State University study likewise proved that eating an apple daily lowered ‘bad cholesterol’ levels by 23 percent while also increasing good cholesterol levels by 4 percent. Female participants also lost an average of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) during the year-long experiment.
